Absoulute Convixtion was formed in May of 2011 when Paul Fleuret' responded to an add placed on Craigslist by Andy Rogers, the two jammed for the first time 2 days later and immediately knew that they had to start a project. The original lineup was rounded out by bassist Mike Harkey. The trio then began writing music, and laying the foundation for what was to come.
In July of 2011, Mike Harkey left Absoulute Convixtion under amicable terms to pursue other interests in music, his contribution was appreciated, and we wish him the best of luck. He was replaced by Jeremy van Dam, who brought his own element of funk and creativity to the band as well, but after a couple months with the band it was decided by all parties that it was best for him and the band to part ways. While Mike and Jeremy were great people and great musicians, Paul and Andy were beginning to get discouraged and began wondering if they would be able to find the "right fit" on bass.
Around this time, an acquaintance whom Andy knew though his girlfriend had expressed interest in filling in, and possibly joining the band full time. Terry James was brought in to fill in, and after the first rehearsal, Andy and Paul knew Terry was the right fit. Oddly enough, Terry had also expressed interest in joining the band when Mike left, but at the time was still tied up with other commitments. It wasn't the first, and it wouldn't be the last time fate has intervened with the band. After a couple shows Terry decided that he would no longer be filling in, as he accepted Paul and Andy's invitation to join the band full time.
The three immediately got to work on crafting new songs, and rebuilding old ones to form a unique sound consisting of crunchy, melodic, and intricate guitar riffs, complimented by Terry's interweaving, hypnotic bass lines and Paul's solid foundation of timing and rhythm the band knew they were on to a sound which would be uniquely their own.
Come winter time of 2011 the band had decided it was missing something, what? They didn't know. As fate would have it, the paths of Paul Fleuret' and Corey Tossas would cross, and upon hearing Corey's voice, Paul knew what the band was missing. An idea to have Corey join AC onstage for a few songs was hatched, and upon rehearsing a few times, it was decided that Corey would be welcomed to the lineup to become the Lead Vocalist for Absoulute Convixtion. Rounding out their sound with a voice which at times can be dark and haunting while at the same time calm and soothing, the band instantly knew this was the lineup which they would carry forward.
As we enter the Spring of 2012, the band is now moving forward at full speed. Their mission is to spread their music, and message to those who choose to hear it. Their debut album is slated to be in the works starting in February with Dyskfunctional Records, the band has already established themselves as one of the cities best rock bands, and that reputation is sure to grow.
The band would like to thank all of the bands who they have played with so far make it possible to have fun in this scene, all the promoters and venues who make the shows possible, and most importantly THE FANS. Without you, none of what they are doing would be possible. So thanks to all the minions who support AC!
